Another warm Polar. Amtrak operates Polar Express Trains from two different locations during the holiday season. Leaving several times daily, passengers can experience the Polar Express from New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal in New Orleans, LA. Seen here on the night of December 18, 2018, P42DC 41 appears to have been freshly painted in Phase V. It is coupled to a Viewliner baggage car and a train of Horizon Cars, which are seldom seen on this part of the railroad. In the background, the troubled yet historic Plaza Tower still looms large over the New Orleans skyline.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
