It's just after sunset as AMTK 463 leads Amtrak "Triple 7" (as the crew likes to call themselves on the radio) along the coast line, seen here skirting Pacific Cost Highway No. 1 and the Pacific Ocean. Off in the distance the iconic Channel Islands can be spotted.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Some of the best passenger locomotives that EMD ever made (aside from the F40PH). With all Amtrak F59s gone from the Surfline, the only place that they can be seen is with Caltrans (Amtrak California).
