Conrail WPAL-12, the East Penn Drill, heads west across the Lehigh River as a "caboose hop". Trailing the single GP38-2 is a Conrail N-8B caboose. This car was rebuilt by Penn Central from New Haven NE5 caboose #545. During rebuilding, N8Bs had the cupola windows blanked and a water tank suspended from the ceiling in that location. A bay window was also added to the car sides, making for a very unique-looking caboose.
