Crossing a curved fill over one of the many “pothole” lakes in the region is an eastbound Dakota, Missouri Valley & Western corn train between Wishek and Lehr, North Dakota, on the afternoon of August 30, 2018. Two of DMVW’s SD60Fs power the train of empties that will be loaded at grain elevators located on the Dakota Subdivision. DMVW bought EMD SD60F Nos. 5500, 5501 and 5544 in October 2017, and they currently still retain their CN colors.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service.
