The soon to be demolished Nelson Street bridge spanning over CSX and Norfolk Southern in Atlanta, Georgia has just a short time left in existence before the 113 year old structure is dismantled. Nelson Street stretched the once grand southern entrance to Atlanta's Terminal Station. In April 1945 FDR's funeral train stopped beneath Nelson Street just in the center of this view after his death on April 12, 1945. Meanwhile NS 282 steps through the changing scene on March 28, 2019. As of this date the only real remaining section of Terminal Station since the South Tower was toppled is the station canopy in the foreground which last served the Nancy Hanks until it's demise in 1972, this too is soon to come down as NS forces have already removed the last bit of trackage that served the platform.
