The last day of Conrail’s second year finds an interesting lashup waiting to tackle the grade to Horseshoe Curve and beyond. A GP38-2 and two GP38’s are joined by two C424’s and a U23B on a westbound manifest pass the Amshack station that served Altoona at the time.
