| It’s a hot July morning in the Santa Ana foothills in Southern California. In a couple of hours it will be almost unbearable to be standing trackside as the sun and heat continue to rise in the cement valley basin. A westbound freight with new Super Fleet GP60Ms curves west for Hobart Yard in LA. In frustration, I shoot with my Nikon underneath the moving freight car to capture the delicious solid set of the new Warbonnet Geeps on the other end of the horseshoe curve at Esperanza. A decade later I find this gem grab shot buried in a tattered Kodachrome slide box in upstate NY. So Cal memories! |
