“WM to the Rescue” At HX interlocking, a worn-looking former Western Maryland SD40, now the lead unit, begins to pull a long string of empty hoppers west, after being added to the head end to assist 5 other units.
Built in 08/1966 (B/N=32136) as WM 7472, CSXT 7572 (seen here with both WM and CSXT reporting marks) would ultimately be renumbered to CSXT 8423, and rebuilt to Dash 2 standards at Huntington.
