Northbound train with second unit GE C39-8 6021, and third unit GE C30-7A 6569 runs along the Ives Run area of Hammond Lake. In less than 6 months, the approximate 65 miles of the former NYC line south of here from Wellsboro Junction to Jersey Shore, PA, the track through "the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania" and Pine Creek Valley would be abandoned and be dismantled by mid-1989. Service through this area from Wellsboro, PA to Corning, NY is now provided by Wellsboro & Corning Railroad (WCOR). Passenger excursion service through this scenic area is provided by the Tioga Central Railroad.
