Amtrak train 3, the westbound Southwest Chief, arrives in Kansas City, Missouri, at about 10:00 pm (22:00) and spends 45 minutes in town while the train is serviced. On August 9, 2018, the nine-car train arrived behind P42DCs 155 and 72. Meanwhile, the other train that serves Kansas City, the Missouri River Runner, spends the night on an adjacent track. It will depart the next morning at 8:15 am as train 314.
An ongoing/growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome, but seldom seen beauty of railroads at sundown or in the light of sunrise. From dusk to dawn, lights are on! (And I continue to find new "Lights In The Night"!)
