Remarks & Notes
It is 7:09 am and the sun is just about to peek over the eastern horizon as Amtrak train 42, the eastbound Pennsylvanian begins boarding its passengers on September 22, 2019. At 7:30 sharp P42DC 122 will pull this six-car train (Amfleet cars 81520, 43362, 25096, 25029, 25060 and 82553) out of the station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to begin its eastward journey to New York, New York – 444 miles away. Nine hours and twenty-six minutes later, the train will pull into New York’s Penn Station in the heart of downtown Manhattan with it’s diesel, P42DC 122, having been traded for ACS-64 639, an electric locomotive. (The change of power will be made in Philadelphia PA.)

The electrified Northeast Corridor and Keystone Corridor have the traffic. The Pennsylvanian and Capitol Limited routed, which are all diesel, have the scenery.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
