Remarks & Notes
With a Rio Grande freight passing on the left, and railfans on the right taking photos and quickly heading back to their cars, Union Pacific 3985 puts on a show as it slowly heads south to the Union Station. UP 3985 took a passenger train special down to Provo and back, and because it was a coal burner, it set off many brush fires. This led to UP 3985 being converted from a coal to oil burner. This was the very first time I saw an articulated steam locomotive running, and what a sight it was!
