Santa Fe GP9U no. 2246 is coupled to its switching slug at Corwith Yard. The origin of this slug is unknown to me, other than it appears to be a former EMD switcher. The 2246 was built as ATSF 734 in February 1957. Interestingly, it was rebuilt to this appearance and got the new number, but was rebuilt again in April 1980 and received the more squared cab.
