Built for CB&Q in February 1961, the unit served well in class one service until it's retirement in July of 1999. Soon after the still 567 powered turbo charged GP20 found it's way to Pioneer. 2053 and a sister GP20, ex ATSF 3000 are still earning their keep on the Georgia Southern in Fort Valley, Georgia where 2053 was photographed on January 1, 2020.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
