When my father had business trips to the Bay area in the 1960s, one of his favorite spots was Pinole, where both the Santa Fe and the Southern Pacific skirted San Francisco Bay. Here a GP9 still in the black widow livery leads a short local along the bay. R.T. Steinbrenner Photo
