Remarks & Notes
Only two major railroads ventured heavily into the peculiar mid-cab switcher offered by Alco in the Century series: RI and SP. The long hoods were the front on Alco's C-415's. They were ordered with full multiple unit connections on both ends and gear ratios compatible with road units. They did occasionally serve as road switchers. Photo from my collection, no photographer information on slide.
