Remarks & Notes
AMTK 180 (P42DC) leads the California Zephyr through wide open prairie east of The Buttes in Wyoming. Due to a large wildfire blocking the route through the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Amtrak diverted north to Wyoming and over to Salt Lake City on its way to Emeryville, California.

Even though Amtrak no longer serves the Cowboy State it had a strong presence in the past and trains occasionally detour through the state.
