Valley Railroad no. 40 leads the 3:30 departure from Essex north crossing Deep River Creek Bridge. 40 was built by the American Locomotive Company in 1920 celebrating it’s one hundredth birthday this year. The former DL&W coaches are all over one hundred years old as they were built in the mid teens.
