No. 89 panned at Paradise- fresh out of the Strasburg's shops in early 1989. This locomotive was built by the Canadian Locomotive Works as the Grand Trunk No. 1009, later renumbered to No. 911; it then became CN No. 911, later renumbered to No. 89. It was completely submerged at Wilkes Barre, PA's Penn Central Buttonwood Yard during the Tropical Storm Agnes flood in June 1972, while en route to Strasburg. Less than a year later, on March 17, 1973, it made its first run on the Strasburg, with the late Mr. John Bowman as engineer.
