Former Jonesboro, Lake City & Eastern Railroad 2-8-0 No. 40, better known as Gettysburg Scenic Railroad's No. 76 has found a new home on display as B&O No. 476 at the Oakland B&O Depot and Museum in Maryland, along the still active B&O main. The locomotive was renumbered from 40 to 76 when the Frisco leased her. She retained that number while with the Mississippian Railroad and both the Penn View Mountain Railroad and the Gettsyburg Scenic tourist steam lines. After sitting idle for several years, No. 76 was sold to the Steam Railroading Institute in MI, in 2005 but a restoration to operation there had stalled. The Oakland B&O Railroad Museum purchased the locomotive in July of 2018 and after an extensive cosmetic restoration, put her on display in front of the historic 1884 built depot. Somewhat resembling B&O's E-39 2-8-0's of the era, it was given a "400 series" number keeping the "76" renumbering the locomotive as B&O No. 476. Captured here on September 30th, 2020.
