On a crisp January morning, an ATSF Barstow bound freight bursts out of the old 1913 built Alray Tunnel on its eastward trek up Cajon Pass. The single track tunnel, one of two on the Cajon Subdivision, would be daylighted during a large expansion project by BNSF during 2007 to 2008.
