Remarks & Notes
Leaser on the Conway Hump

Precision National Corporation and its predecessor Precision Engineering Company were locomotive rebuilders and pioneers in the locomotive leasing business. Most of the PNC fleet was first generation, bit there were some second-generation units. Here a former Southern Pacific GP35 is teamed with a Conrail SD40 to work the hump in the 1970’s haze at Conway, Pennsylvania. Eventually competition with newer power appeared, and PNC closed its doors in 1997.
