A westbound Santa Fe freight descends Cajon Pass as the sun is about to drop behind the San Gabriel Mountains, bringing a day of railfanning to an end. ATSF C30-7 8160 leads a five-engine consist through Verdemont, the Santa Fe station at the (railroad) eastern end of San Bernardino, but actually in the western end of the city. (San Bernardino, California – January 21, 1984)
