Wisconsin Central plow flanger No. 302 flanges the main line west of Hermansville, Michigan, on December 28, 1996. The snow isn’t deep enough to utilize the large wedge plow up front, but it is just as important to clear the flange ways of snow and ice with the flanger apparatus to keep the trains moving safely in winter conditions.
