Remarks & Notes
Snow Scene. MTA Metro-North Railroad 228 (P32AC-DM) leads a Poughkeepsie bound train up the Hudson Line approaching the Riverdale Station in the Bronx, New York on a snowy April 2, 2018. While there is no specific plan for repainting any of the McGinnis New Haven tribute P32s, all of the other similarly painted units BL20GHs and GP40-2Hs have been painted in the new CT Rail corporate scheme while being rebuilt. The 4 P32s are a tribute to the EMD built FL9, the only other third rail/diesel dual mode engine used in mainline passenger service in the United States. The FL9s traveled the Connecticut and New York area rails for more than 4 decades before being retired.
