Heritage McDonald’s. As SEPTA 9022 crosses Walnut Street on 40th Street on Thursday, July 15, 2021 during the Trolley Subway Blitz, it passes and older McDonald’s with a light colored Mansard-Roof Style construction. The 1970s design of the McDonald’s splits the scene between the early 20th Century houses and the modern glass building in the background. This location has recently closed, and with University of Pennsylvania and others aggressively re-developing the area, it is not hard to think of a reason.
