Remarks & Notes
A pair of former GN GP9s, nos. 1804 & 1764, park at Newport, WA between assignments. The lack of nose stripes is because these units were set up long hood forward. The former GN mainline still celebrates semaphores at this time, but a lack of upkeep shows in the jointed rail trackage. Parts of this line between Spokane and Sandpoint, ID would be abandoned, and the line from here north to Sandpoint would be spun off.
