A southbound Wisconsin Central freight treads as lightly as it can through the front yards of homes lining Division Street in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on November 18, 1989. Two children head down the sidewalk as the tonnage passes by, apparently used to the frequent distraction on this former Soo, now WC main line. Their parents probably warned them to “watch out for trains in the front yard when playing outside.” This trackage today is long gone and barely traceable, with the trains moved over to the former Chicago & North Western/Fox River Valley Railroad route just to the east during the WC era.
