Poking out of the west end of Big Tunnel, CSX train L422 (also referred to as J780) heads west for Mitchell on the Indiana Subdivision with one of few remaining YN2 GP40-2’s on the point. Big Tunnel itself is unique in it’s own way, as it is said to be haunted, and known for real ghost stories by locals. And I can honestly say that being here alone for not even 5 minutes in dead silence waiting for the train felt kind of scary nonetheless, and I’ll also admit I would not want to be here by myself at night.
