Remarks & Notes
Flying Backwards. On the morning of Thursday, July 28, 2022, MTA Metro-North Railroad Train 1831 experienced a problem with its cab car and made a rare departure from Danbury, Connecticut for Grand Central Terminal in New York, New York with its engine leading. It was pure luck for the photographer that New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad Tribute unit MNCW 231 (P32AC-DM) was leading, seen here crossing the flyover at Woodlawn Junction in the Bronx,New York, a scene of McGinnis paint that frequently occurred with FL-9s, EP-5s and the like in the era before cab car control operation. The train was on time, both departing and arriving at GCT.
