What happens when you have a logistic nightmare, miss judgement of a trailer length, and a railroad crossing? Well, you get a not so good chain of reaction! The locomotives, and all damage cars are resting alongside the NS Atlanta North-End in the quiet college community of Collegedale, TN. On December 20 NS, 26C collided with a wide load truck carrying a 100ft section of a concrete girder for the Apison Pike bridge that was supposed to divert road traffic over this piece of railroad. Which resulted in a derailment ending the lead locomotive into Wolftever creek somewhat 1500ft where this picture was taken. Luckily the crew walked away with minor injuries. Well, this "big one" is going be the talk of this community for a whole.
