Train To Montreal Today. Amtrak operated its last full Adirondack (Trains 68/69) between New York Penn Station in New York, New York and Central Station in Montreal Quebec in March of 2020 when the service was temporarily discontinued due to pandemic related restrictions. Today, April 3, 2023, the northbound service will be restored (Train 69), with that train returning as the first southbound (Train 68) on April 4, 2023. Long time Delaware & Hudson passenger service on this line ceased with Amtrak's inception in 1971, but was restored in cooperation with the D&H in 1974. Through various route changes over the years, it continued operating until 2020. On February 7, 2021, Amtrak Train 835 operated as a crew requalification train from Albany-Rensselaer, New York to Rouses Point, New York to keep crews current on the US/Canadian Pacific portion of the route. The train was double ended with P42DCs 107 and 103 to facilitate the return trip. The train is seen running above the shores of Lake Champlain in Willsboro, New York, one of the many scenic locations on this route.
