Remarks & Notes
Train wreck at Superior WV – photo by Howard Hutchison from my collection. The railroad calls this location Huger which is approximately three miles east of Welch WV on the N&W Pocahontas Division. This wreck occurred on the east side of the Huger Twin Tunnels in August 1959. This photo is looking east. Two Alco RS11s have brought the Bluefield Wreck Train west to the derailment. Out of the photo to the right is the Williamson Wreck Train that has come east with another crane to work the derailment from the west side. My Dad brought my brother and me out to watch the clean up.
