Work Service.
A set of R42 cars (St. Louis Car Co., 1969-1970) leads a New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) refuse train that has stopped momentarily on the Manhattan-bound local track at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Ave station on the IND Queens Blvd Line. These cars would not have been seen in revenue service in over a decade, as the few that were not retired by then were transferred to the J/Z in 2009 to live out the rest of their lives.
