On 1/18/2024, FEC unveiled their brand new Veterans paint on #430. This was premiered along with new paint on GEs 816 & 820. The plan is to use this on special moves as often as possible, was hoped for the 2023 Toys For Tots special, but wasn't ready in time. January has often been a time of change with the power on the FEC. The original "heritage" unit, GP40 #2000, debuted on 1/14/2000 then in 2007, the first four SD70M-2 debuted on the 8th of January complete with a celebration similar to what was done today. January 2015 saw a bulk of the six-axle EMD fleet go into lease service, but that's another story for another time.
