Special For The 4:11 PM To Raritan. On one of the few days that it visited the Raritan Valley Line this summer, NJT Train 5431 was led by CNJ tribute unit NJTR 4109 (née CNJ 3677, GP40-P, EMD, 10/1968). Once upon a time this was a common sight as this was one of 13 GP40-Ps purchased for service on this line and the North Jersey Coast Line, but by the 1980s, brand new EMD F40PHs had displaced the standard cabs. Fast forward yet another 40 years, and the geeps remain while those F40s are few in number. The train is seen passing through the PATH Station in Harrison, New Jersey on September 7, 2023, just before arriving at Newark Penn Station to begin its trip.
