Remarks & Notes

Milwaukee Road's Newport Tower stood along the heavily trafficked Milwaukee Road & Burlington Northern joint mainlines just east (south) of Pig's Eye and Dayton Bluff yards in St. Paul. The Rock Island also used these mains under trackage rights as far as Newport where is diverted off to cross the Mississippi River to Inver Grove. The tower controlled crossovers between MILW & BN. It has been moved and saved.
