Fifty two years ago Wilmot Model Railroad Shop in Prattville was a beacon for model railroaders in the deep south. We traveled there as often as possible to buy treasured models and to chit chat with the old hands who hung around. An in those days the state capital was a small town served by something like five railroads. To me this was THE L&N paint scheme. They were the big show there.
