Railroad Museum [for a Day].
On Sunday, September 29, 2024, the United Railroad Historical Society of NJ hosted their annual "Railroad Museum [for a Day]" event at their Boonton, NJ facility.
In coordination with the event, NJ Transit operated special weekend shuttle service, dubbed the "Boonton Scoot," between Boonton Station and Denville Station. This service, which was led by GP40PH-2 no. 4109, allowed attendees to arrive by rail to the event from New York City and other NJ Transit stations. The agency also brought two locomotives to the event: GP40PH-2B no. 4210 and ALP-45A no. 4550.
