Amtrak's Phase III heritage unit, AMTK 145, leads the second westbound Missouri River Runner towards Kansas City in the early afternoon light. In a half-mile, the train will make its stop at the historic Kirkwood depot. 145 lead the Southwest Explorer excursion the previous week, landing it in Kansas City where it was place on the Missouri River Runner runs on Cinco de Mayo. I wanted another view from Kirkwood station, but the train pulled up a little too far, leaving me with only 1 good shot. Still, I'll take it!
