Remarks & Notes |
This Union Pacific empty coal train is rolling downgrade near the lower end of the Price River Canyon, right at Utah Railway Jct. The train will roll right through Helper yard in 2 or 3 miles and continue on to The Castle Valley Sub east of Price, Utah for loading at the Savage Coal Terminal. The overhead signal bridge is a relic left over from the D&RGW days. There are five of these still surviving west of Helper including three in the close vicinity of Utah Railway Jct. The signal and track on the left are for the Utah Railway which enters the UP's Provo sub here. |
