Steamscape: Cimbing Past Perry's Pond. Work Extra 315 is almost "home" now, just over 2 miles from the summit of Cumbres Pass and presently passing the tiny pond that has informally taken on the name of noted American Rail Photographer Otto Perry. Although the pond is famous for its reflection shot of descending trains in the afternoon, it's also excellent as a wider landscape shot, especially when the clouds are hanging right on the nearby mountain tops. As 315 continues to claw her way to the top of the hill, the drizzle has finally stopped, there are bright spots appearing in the overcast, it's beginning to look like we might just have a little sun later in the morning.
