Remarks & Notes
During the Belden Hill tunnel enlargement project, all Delaware & Hudson traffic between Binghamton and the north was detoured via the former Erie Southern Tier line and the northern remnant of the D&H Penn Division. The connector between the two lines ran from the Southern Tier at Lanesboro, Pennsylvania to the Penn Division at Jefferson Junction (JN). Trains from both directions would arrive at Jefferson Junction pointing south, and the power would need to be repositioned to the opposite end of the train. There was no passing siding, so the D&H established a puller job based at JN to facilitate the repositioning. Here a puller job is pulling a train south through Brandt, nearing the point where the Penn Division was severed.
