Business cars on the end of an intermodal train. They came into Chicago yesterday behind BNSF 1000 and 5064.
Ex-BN SD40-2 with NS GP50 #7092.
Two EMDX SD60s, 9059 and 9044, plus a CSX AC6000CW head this w/b mixed freight. Thanks for the heads up from Matt Lastovich.
This intermodal had 6 business cars on the rear. The cars were eastbound last night behind BNSF 1000 and BNSF 5064, two Dash 9s.
402 "State of Illinois" speeds through Belmont Curve.
Belmont is a good place to railfan, thanks to the superelevated curve.
189 with an outbound meets 192 with an inbound at Belmont. You can see two more sets of headlights way, way down there.
The sun and clouds collaborated perfectly in this shot!...to screw it up...
Passing under the soon to be history CB&Q bridge in Hinsdale. They have already put the poles up for the new signals.
The outbound Southwest Chief.
A single engine speeds on by and under the bridge.
Pumpkins galore!
Note the large front porch of the SD40-2, on which the engineer and conductor can have a BBQ if their train ever had to make a stop in the desert. :)
Outbound stack train with three Dash 9s as it's power. Really something to feel the train go under the old bridge here.
A meet between older F40 and the newer F40.
