CNW 8646 leads AASAM 31 out of Smithton siding after meeting Amtrak 316.

Even though gas prices were high, it was well worth it to see one of two CNW units make a rare visit to central Texas. Who knows when it will be back to Texas for another visit...

CNW 8646 and UP 3788 throttles up as the train departs Hearne Texas on its way to the Saint Louis area and ultimately back to Proviso Yard near Chicago.

It was a beautiful Sunday to follow the CNW 8646 across north Texas leading a manifest to Fort Worth. Here the train approaches the north end of Hicks Siding and Saginaw.
