The line between Serghaya and Damascus is very scenic. It runs through a beautiful gorge section into the the Anti-Lebanon mountains.
The line between Dera'a and Damascus is quite flat and boring. Only a few bridges allow to make some good shots.
The steam locomotive N°262 is a 2-8-2 built by Hartmann in Germany in 1918. The mixed passenger train is ready to leave the Dera'a station for Damascus.

Pacific N°82 is catching the evening sun as she returns to Amman with a local passenger train.
The locomotive N°82 has initially been built by Nippon Sharyo in Japan for the Royal Siam Railways in 1953. It has never been delivered to this country and it came to the Hedjaz Railway in 1959.
There are many such bridges on the Hedjaz railway. Some of them have been destroyed by Lawrence of Arabia ! This one is located north of Amman somewhere in the desert.

The locomotive N°71 has been built by Haine Saint Pierre in Belgium in 1955.
The 2-8-2 N°51 built by Jung in Germany in 1955 (we have the same age!) is leaving Amman with a short train to Qasir.
