Freshly restored New York Central E8A #4083 is alongside the "Hickory Creek" in preparation for the following day's URHS Transportation Heritage Festival, an open house at the restoration yard in Boonton, NJ. This E8 was one of only three NYC locomotives to wear this experimental scheme from 1961 to 1964, and it is the only one of the three that is still extant. The restoration was performed by a dedicated group of volunteers and contractors over the last several months in preparation for this event, and the locomotive looks absolutely fantastic... if you like that color green, of course!
