UP DD35A No. 70 was a 5000 hp behemoth that helped make railfanning UP a unique experience in the 60s and 70s. The unit is on the head end of an eastbound freight that has just climbed over the Blue Mountains of eastern Oregon, and will soon depart towards Idaho and points east. To the left another unique UP experience, an Old Timers' Special waits to depart La Grande headed towards Portland, OR.
