Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District train #14, heading from South Shore, Indiana, to Chicago, Illinois, makes a stop at Michigan City, Indiana's, 11th Street station, situated next to the old Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad station - which is now closed. The new station is a minimal shelter, not much bigger than a bus stop shelter - Which, on this January 18th, 2016, day, with the temperature at -1º F, and a wind-chill factor of -18º F, makes waiting for a train pretty brutal. The CSS&SB line through town features street running down 10th and 11th Streets.
