Remarks & Notes
In the late 1970's Union Pacific has side-lined its fleet of DD35A and B-units. Based on operating expenses, units began phasing out in the late 1970's with the B-units being hit hardest. UP 71 has been prepared for long term storage; on August 03, 1980 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. UP 71 was sold for scrap in April 1982. No photographer listed on slide.
